- Blumler and katz researched how and why people select certain media products over others.
They came up with four main uses

  1. Entertainment-offers distraction from the world.
  2. Personal identity-helps us consider who we are;what values we identify with.
  3. Relationship-we find things we can share and discuss with others.
  4. Information-new information we want to know or take pleasure in knowing.

The Lego Movie Poster Campaign

Lego movie teaser posts:

There are over 20 teaser posters that have been released which made the target audience want to go se the movie because young kids would like the bright colours the poster.Also parents or older people would like to go see the film because the posters with characters on them could remind them of other films they have seen and enjoyed.

 



















Stereotypes in the lego movie have been changed as wild style is seen as the hero because Emmit is constantly being saved by her.

Stereotypes can be positive because it can give people to look up too for example action heroes. They can also cause debates and simplify characters to make it easier to make a film.





The Lego Movie uses stereotypes to create representation as the characters appeal to the target audience and can be easily understood.Lord business has got a stereotype of being a villain as he has got dark,evil colours,angry pointed eyebrows and scary facial expressions.

The characters and the storyline includes other references like DC superheroes and Lego Ninjago which creates familiarity in the game. The game extends the pleasure of the film because the people playing the game can interact with the characters and play the storyline.
